IMA Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar extend support to flood-hit families- IMA led by Dr. Anupam Takalkar

The Indian Medical Association (IMA) Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar has taken urgent action to assist families affected by the recent floods in the Marathwada region. Led by President Dr. Anupam Takalkar and Secretary Dr. Yogesh Lakkas, the association members organized medical camps, distributed food kits, and contributed Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund.
A team of IMA doctors conducted health check-ups in flood-affected villages near Paithan. Patients received free medicines to prevent common post-flood illnesses such as skin infections and water-borne diseases.
To address immediate food needs, 110 grocery kits were distributed. Each kit contained wheat flour, rice, toor dal, sugar, and biscuits, providing essential support to families struggling for basic necessities.
The association also contributed Rs 2 lakh to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The cheque was formally handed over to District Collector Mr. Dilip Swami by Dr. Anupam Takalkar and Dr. Yogesh Lakkas, along with senior members Dr. Yashwant Gade and Dr. Datta Kadam.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Anupam Takalkar said, “The floods have affected many families. We wanted to provide help through medical care, food relief, and financial support. This is our way of standing with the community in this difficult time.”
Dr. Yashwant Gade added, “It was important for us to reach the people quickly. The medical camps and grocery distribution were organized to ensure immediate relief for the most affected families.”
Dr. Datta Kadam said, “Supporting rehabilitation is a responsibility we take seriously. This contribution to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund is intended to help long-term recovery for the flood-affected communities.”
The IMA Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar branch has a long-standing tradition of public service. From COVID-19 relief work to health awareness campaigns and blood donation drives, the branch continues to support the community whenever needed.
Through this initiative, IMA reaffirmed its commitment to serving society with care, responsibility, and solidarity.
